नेपालस्थित राष्ट्रसङ्घीय उच्चायुक्त कार्यालय अनुसार सन् २००७ नोभेम्बरमा सुरुभएको पुनर्वास योजनामा हालसम्म आठवटा पश्चिमा मुलुकमा पुनर्वास भइरहेको छ।उच्चायुक्तको कार्यालयका अनुसार सबैभन्दा बढी सङ्ख्याका शरणार्थी संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिकामा पुनर्वासमा गएका छन्। अमेरिकाले मात्र ४२ हजार शरणार्थीलाई आफ्नो मुलुकमा पुनर्वासमा लगेको छ।यसैगरी, अन्य आठ हजार शरणार्थीलाई क्यानडा, अस्ट्रेलिया, न्यूजिल्यान्ड, नर्वे, डेनमार्क, नेदरल्यान्ड्स र बेलायतमा पुनर्वास गराइएको छ। आफ्नो जन्म स्थल छोड्नु परेपछि के गदैछन् अमेरिकामा ?

I really appreciate the government of united states..but sometime when i find bhutani refuge and ask them “dai tapai nepali ho” then they get angry…so i dont understand some people..i really feel sad that they have to leave their country but now they have better life…but they should keep one thing in mind that they are nepali not refuge…

I am a bhutani refugee too.. i have come to america before three years ago. The news is not that bad as said by above commentators. Here i am going to speak on my on. See there are many many difficulties and challenges. It would take years to overcome it. It is an opportunities on hand and challenge on the other. No joke,, it is a difficult situation for illiterate and uneducated folks.,,No joke,, it is a difficult situation and place for all most all whoever think themselves as educated and literate ones. Every where we go we find difficulties and obstacles no matter how qualified he or she is. Many people have committed suicide and they didn’t commit suicide due to easy life or having too much to eat or wear clothes on.
We can not finish jotting the problems and obstacles down here.
To conclude we are to lead a life with all circumstances and barriers. “Face the challenge ” should be the motto. We got to find happiness and easiness with in sadness and difficulties. Optimism and Positivism in one’s mind will help in growing healthy and gaining livelihood in new land.

We are Bhutanese not nepali though we speak nepali it is because we never got a nepali status . we are extremely happy with the third world settlement . People are enjoying a fullest happiness of life. I don’t think people are unhappy here in USA , still the love for our motherland is there but it doesn’t mean that people are unhappy . We used to hide our bhutanese status to get job in Nepal , we are never given the nepali citizen after living there for 20 yrs. so plez whoever are left behind in refugee camp plez start your process in come to live in a new and 100% better life in USA . Bhutanese living in USA don’t have refugee status in usa,though we came on refugee status. So, we are former refugees that means we already have GREEN CARD(permanent resident card). We are on the way to become citizen.

We are Bhutanese Not Nepali. Bhutanese Government said, we are illegal immigrants form Nepal, Nepali, immigrate to Bhutan to to get a Job. This status presented by Bhutan Government is absolutely wrong, however we Southern Bhutanese, and Nepali people in Nepal are repeating and saying the same thing as Bhutan Government put blamed on us (illegal Nepali immigrant). we are supporting Bhutan Government by identifying, we are Nepali/ Nepali mulka Bhutani.So whatever we speak is all wrong, and thats the reason of non of the countries and, human rights organization, and political organizations listen form 1 ear and through form another, instead identifying our problem and put pressure on Bhutan.As reported stated, we became refugee because we had hard time wearing bakkhu and speaking dzongkha. Good news well covered .
It’s true there are challenges over here . We are human . So where ever we go what ever we do we wil always have all these ups and downs . This is life and we must take it normal .
Lets support each other and help each other to overcome these challenges / difficulties to make our living comfortable and meaningful in USA.
I have found that the person who have been never gone to school in Bhutan have difficulties here in USA because of language barrier . Therefore , I would encourage youth ( all school and college going youths ) to help their family members / community to overcome these problems .
Lets become Nepali speaking Bhutanese American not English speaking American in USA .

Thank you for raising the concerns based on the resettled Bhutanese folks to the third countries. This could be done before a decade and could be pressurized to Nepal and Bhutan Government for recognition and repatriation. Its too late to say that the Bhutanese are too patriotic and they had to be mandatorily resettled. No,its not! Bhutanese are patriotic to those countries that provide them the basic human rights and freedom.All of the resettled Bhutanese opted these resettlements options willingly.No regret at all. Resettled Bhutanese are treated very respectfully and humanely. There ain’t any doubt that the hard working people always get good credit, as the Bhutanese do and they deserve it.
I don’t find much relevant issue about what the commentator intended to describe in the above news video.This is a big transition from the lives in poor country Nepal and to the third world. There are many more difficulties but at least the people are dignified and protected by its government. Those are given rights and freedom. So obviously, people are happy.
Let me suggest to the commentator on a few tags and titles as you used to describe the resettled folks. Resettled folks in the third countries are no any more “Saranarthi or Refugee”.You may start to say “Bhutanese American” or as wherever those resettled to!
Next important thing- Meedia should also highlight the corruption and briberies issue on against of the Bhutanese innocent folks in Eastern Nepal. Many Nepalese high level government and local employees have been demanding the bribes to those innocent camps folks to expedite their process. Why media never raise the issue? Very doubtful?

Everybody knows western countries are well off than Eastern cog of many things for instance $ 1 = 85 to 90 Nc in Nepal . Do you think that yr own country is that much poor ? Yr problem is a political problem . Have you ever relished staying in camp for 20 yrs and so . Everybody feeds you well cog no body wants o spoil relation with India . Bhutan is one of hidden state of India refer 1949 treaty between Bhutan and India . It’s is not that you can go back to Bhutan still but the relation between Bhutan and India is your barrier .

Alright! Alright! we are Bhutanese, and our identification is Bhutan. What I want to say is that our parents, grandparents and their many generations were born and lived in Bhutan with Bhutanese citizenship. Only the thing that matters us was to live in Nepal for many years as refugees. If we were Nepali in the heart and thoughts of Nepalese goverment, they would have well protected us long time ago before we were neglected or ignored. Where is that heart, love and respect gone when we were living hard, unprotected, exile and critical life in Nepal??? How much selfish, stone heatred inequality and unfair was Nepal goverment for those Bhutanese refugees in Nepal. In my eyes, Nepal government is as bad as Indian Government. Anyway, Nepal is the better place than India to live as refugees. Atleast we enjoyed some part of that hard life in Nepal by listening news, music, and various programs in radio and television that speaks Nepali langauge of our own. If we were in kept in India as refugees, our life would be so miserable and dark as in prison. Eventhough Nepal Govt. didn’t take us seriously, I just like to thank for few assists. That is life when you are able to accumulate a lot of experiences, new things and places; otherwise, life is full of shit and irritation. I am so happy with my life because I learnt to live life in any hardest and luxurious situation. Thank you for this News and, I would like to ask Nepali NEWS collectors to come and meet the Bhutanese youths who are struggling their life to reach in their dream, so they would help you guys to make up more good news. Life in America, Europe, and Australia is better and the best. Prakash You got the piont but you still misunderstood the fact that citizenship and the race are not the same in any aspect. Nepali are always nepali wherever they are the only things they can change is thier physical identity but not the heredity. we are bhutanese citizen this can not be misinterpreted in any cost but by race and heredity we are nepali. Nepali in sanse doesnt mean nealese citizen but nepai in sense of our identity language and tradition. lierally you yourself falling in temptation of nepali culture and tradition; however , figuratively your bargaining against yourself.
