छलेर खान नपाएपछी ट्राफिक प्रहरीको विरोधमा ट्याक्सी चालक
यात्रुलाई ठगेर भाडा लिने ट्याक्सी चालकलाई ट्राफिक प्रहरीले कारबाही सुरु गरेको विरोधमा ट्याक्सी चालक आन्दोलित भएका छन्।
यात्रुबाट मनपरी भाडा लिने मिटर नराख्ने ट्याक्सी चालकलाई ट्राफिक प्रहरीले कारवाही गरेको भन्दै ट्याक्सी चालक विरोधमा उत्रिएका हुन् ।
आन्दोलनमा उत्रिएका ट्याक्सी चालक आफूले भनेजति पैसामा यात्रु बोक्न पाउँनु पर्ने, प्रतिकिलोमिटर ५० रुपैयाँ भाडादर कायम हुनुपर्ने, ट्राफिक प्रहरीले प्वाल पारेका लाइसेन्स सदर गर्नुपर्ने लगायतका माग गरेका छन् ।

This is a two way or two dimensional problem. Of course , we have the solution to this problem as well. Following things should be done to find the better solution-
1. The Taxi drivers or the taxi- owners should form a association ( if there is not Taxi association registered yet)that should come up with facts and problems that they face in their daily life. The head of the association must not allow any taxi-drivers to involve in strike or any violence in Nepali Society . Instead the head of the association should be prepared for the table talk and the paper works.
2. Nepal Police especially the traffic police must be upgraded. Its the demand of time. The traffic police should check the drivers license( if needed) , must check the speed limit, must check the number of passengers in the vehicle, registration and inspection of the Vehicle and the public safety rules must be followed. There must be a high level inspection and under covered law enforcement officers must be dispatched in the offices where driver license trials , examinations are performed and licenses are distributed .
3- Traffic Police should be given authority to take action against public crime in public places. Nepal Police must be given well equipment and authorization to take control over the traffic related crime. Video cameras should be given to collect and submit the proof of the violation done by the public. If needed , the traffic police should be allowed to shoot the gun in case if they have a video tape that shows the suspect entirely violating the law and trying to escape or attack the traffic police officers.Further investigations on the video recordings must be verified and approved by Detective departments according to the law. So at least two Police traffic officers with minimum security weapons should be dispatched at a time so that video tapes can be collected from the crime scene or the violation scene.
4- All the Nepalese Citizens , residents residing within the border of Nepal should be under the compliance and rules and laws of traffic police are to be followed honestly. More traffic police should be recruited, trained and dispatched to every single corner of Nepal.
5- The public vehicles including Taxi must run through their meters. If their meters are knowing or unknowingly broken , they must be towed by traffic police and must be fined according to the law. Anybody raising weapons or fighting against the traffic police officers on duty unlawfully must be taken into custody. Officers should be allowed to shoot the offenders if they feel their life at very high risk. Officers must record the video tapes if they feel like they need to raise gun against the violators in the process of self defense.
6- The government , corporate and private companies must address the solution to the rising prices of gas and petroleum so that these taxi drivers and other public transportation related individuals wont get screwed financially . they should be encouraged to do their business in more peaceful, safe and profiting way.
The bottom line is our Nepal police force especially traffic police must be upgraded and must be provided equipment like video recording cameras and minimum essential weapons and authorities to control the public traffic and should be made accessible in every corner of Nepal. Defense budget should be the first priority in the Country.
